History
Edgehill Estate is “an exceptionally well preserved
home built in the Tudor Revival country estate style,” reminiscent
of an English medieval manor.
- Built in 1932
- A.C. Gilbert, renowned inventor
and toymaker, commissioned the home for William
Gilbert and his wife Dorothee Blakeslee
- Noted New Haven area architect, Dwight E. Smith,
designed the home
